iPhone 5 Release Date

The Elusive Iphone 5 Release Date

Rumors have placed the iPhone 5 release date in June or July of 2011. Others have pushed it back to September. Still others say it will not be released until sometime in 2012. Apple has not been very forthcoming with information about when they plan to launch this new phone.

Many people were anxious to gain details on the iPhone 5 release date at the annual WWDC. While the company released information about the planned operating system, the actual date of release was not even discussed.

Officially, a fire in the factory where Apple products such as the iPhone and iPad are manufactured has eliminated any hope that the iPhone 5 release date will be any time this summer. There is no way the company can get enough units built and ready to market in time for such an early launch.

However, an ongoing legal battle with Samsung may force Apple’s hand and make them push up the iPhone 5 release date. This comes as a result of a countersuit filed by Samsung in answer to a lawsuit Apple filed requesting a court injunction against Samsung for blatantly stealing technology from other products to use in their own smart phones. Samsung has requested access to the technical data on the iPhone 5 in response to Apple’s request for the release of technical data on Samsung products that are already on the market.

While Steve Jobs has already unveiled the operating system Apple plans to use in the new phones, IOS5, there are rumors that delays in the final version of the software are one of the main items holding up production of the phones. It has been speculated that Apple may be forced to release the phone prematurely with an IOS4.5 operating system instead of the planned upgrade. However, this is doubtful as the model 5 has been promised to include many other upgrades and features that will require the newer operating system.

With the iPhone 5 release date still up in the air, experts agree that the sales of Android based phones and other competitors may be in a sort of grace period. However, for those who prefer the Apple product, there are several good reasons to go ahead and purchase an iPhone 4. It seems highly unlikely that the new model will be released anytime in next few months, in a fashion that would make the purchase obsolete before its time.

Some have speculated that part of the delay in the iPhone 5 release date is the fact that Apple has only just recently released the white version of the 4. It is thought that releasing the 5 too soon afterward would cause sales of the 4 to drop off dramatically and leave Apple sitting on a large stockpile of obsolete phones. The truth of such speculations is impossible to ascertain, however. It is possible that the two are completely unrelated. After all, Apple is still selling iPhone 3s, though at a bargain price.

Nobody can say for certain when the iPhone 5 release date will be. There have been many setbacks in moving the smart phones to production. The promised upgrades and security features will require a brand new operating system that has been unveiled, but has not been released to the public at the present time. It is possible that problems in the software have not been completely overcome.

Physical problems such as the fire that destroyed a factory where Apple has many of its products manufactured have also contributed to the delay in the iPhone 5 release date. However, actions by competitors may force Apple’s hand and lead to an earlier release than Apple is ready for. Either way, it looks like we will just have to wait and see.

Apple’s Release of the New iPhone 4S + iPhone 5 Rumors

Apple just released the new iPhone 4s and the market is buzzing about it. Tim Cook, Apple’s newest CEO was expected to give everyone a head’s up about the release of the new Apple iPhone 5 earlier at a press conference. Instead he spoke only about their latest version, the iPhone 4s.

This newest model launched by Apple is designed to run about 7 times faster than previous model. This feature will enable the device to run applications much faster than the 4 ever thought about being capable of doing. The new phone will run both networks, CDMA and GSM, which gives it the nickname, the “world phone.” The camera on this latest release is faster, 8 megapixels and is much more highly advanced.

Some avid Apple users were looking forward to the iPhone 5, and were a little disappointed at the announcement. Models of the iPhone 4s are available for varying prices, all of which include a 2-year service contract. The 16 GB is priced at $199, the 32GB unit is $299, and the 64 GB unit is $399. After Apple released the iPhone 4s, they also announced that they will continue selling the previous models, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4. The price tags of course are greatly reduced on these earlier models with the 8GB 4 being lowered to only $99; and the 8BG 3GS will be free when users purchase various data bundles with the carriers.

Latest Improvements

At first look, this newer model does not look much different than its immediate predecessor. The most important changes are not visible ones. For instance the newer model has a dual core A5 chip which is the most powerful processor that Apple has included in their phones to date. The cores are equipped to handle graphics up to 7 time faster and with twice as much power than before. This makes the unit quick and very responsive and when users are launching apps, gaming, or just browsing the web it can make a huge difference. It is also one of the most efficient models with regards to battery life.

One of the favorite features of the Apple iPhone 4S is that is uses the iOS5. This was announced by Apple early this year. It has more than 20 more features than the earlier releases had. This also includes integration with Twitter, News Stand, improved email notification system and a brand new messenger service that is called the iMessage app. This app is used to communicate between devices that use iOS. Claims by Apple say that their iOS5 is more advanced and powerful and promise it will enhance the entire iPhone experience.

There are more than 200 features and this includes iCloud service. This add much to user’s experience as they can sync and manage various content such as photos, apps, mail, music, documents and contacts for starters. It is one of the easiest ways to manage all the user’s content and it can now be accessed from anywhere around the globe.

Camera Features

This latest release by Apple has a better than average 8 megapixel resolution camera that boasts an ability to give 60 percent more pixels which will give a better experience. It has an autofocus, face detection and an LED flash. The aperture is a little larger at f/2.4 and the infrared filter offers sharper and more accurate images with its hybrid construction. It can also support 1080p HD videos and records at 30 fps. The automatic white balance feature helps to make the colors much more accurate and the noise reduction features allows for excellent videos even in settings with low light. The newest features for video stabilization will help eliminate all the undesirable motion when you video with shaky hands. And users can even edit videos on the move and share them immediately with friends.

The size of the display remains unchanged from previous editions and the resolution is still the same as with the iPhone4.  The screen is equipped with an LED backlight and a very good pixel resolution at 326ppi. This allows users to view crisp and clear images and this enhances the viewing experience. One of the nicest new features that the 4S does have is a fingerprint resistance oleophobic coating. This special coating is on the back and the front.

Voice Control Features

The new iPhone 4S has a new voice control feature, Siri. This intelligent assistant will assist you with all your voice commands. It understands exactly what is spoken to it and it will help the user fiure out what the correct answer is. Siri will help you make calls, send messages, schedule a meeting or reminder.

Let’s say that the user says, “What are the weather conditions?” Then Siri, the intelligent assistant may answer, “The weather will be windy and cloudy today with a drop in temperature to 58 degrees today.” This has got to be one of Apple’s most interesting features to date. The voice control feature first of all understands what is said, and is intelligent enough to figure out what was meant. You may ask Siri, “Any good pizza places around here?” And Siri might reply, “ I found several pizza places near your location.” Then it will give a list of all the restaurants which serve pizza.

This feature can also take dictation. The user does not have to type a thing, just speak to the iPhone 4S and it will make the conversion into text. This is a very handy feature for writing messages, taking notes and searching the web. Facebook and Twitter can both be updated too.

Battery Life

According to Apple, the new iPhone 4S is supposed to have a better longer lasting battery. It should support 8 hours of talk time (3G), 14 hours of 2G network use, 6 continual hours of browsing, 9 hours for Wi-Fi, a full 10 hours of watching videos and over 40 hours to listen to music. This battery lasts much longer than the iPhone 4 and it will easily switch between antennas so that call quality is not lost.

Apple predictions for 2012

Waiting for something new from Apple can be a risky game, which does not mean that from time to time is not fun. As they released iPhone 4s,  when we expected a new iPhone 5 release .

Introducing the five things that we think may be expected from Apple next year. Something based on the persistent rumors and signs of this year, and some pure speculation based on the trends and habits of the company when it comes to bring new products to market.

Still without TV sets

The product of which is rumored in 2011.  and only on the basis of some abstract data, almost certainly on its way to becoming a real thing, but it probably will not happen next year.

In a recently published biography of Steve Jobs, author Walter Isaacson  wrote about the efforts to make a TV set, easy to use that integrate with various products and services. “I would like to create a TV set that will be perfectly synchronized with all of our devices . It will have the easiest user interface that you can imagine.

Of course, the big question remains how far Apple has really progressed in this field. In an interview with CNET Walter Isaacson said that Apple did not “even close” and that is all “theoretical”.

In late October, Bloomberg reported that the company hired a team of founding members of the iPod and iTunes to create a TV set, and recently Peter Misek, an analyst at Jefferies & Company claimed that Apple is making offered by Sharp display to TV arrived in stores by mid-2012th

That assessment, however, is quite unfounded, especially considering where Apple is currently with their home entertainment sector.
There is no doubt that the TV set one day see the light, but is unlikely to happen in 2012.

Siri is open for developers

Voice Assistant has become a hit since it was introduced this fall in the iPhone 4S, but it lacks one major thing. The current implementation is limited to inquiries with services, such as Wolfram Alpha and Yelp, the application of the Apple. Lacks a way to  attaches itself to half a million applications that are in the App Store.

Just as the application of these shops have helped to expand the capabilities of the iPhone, creating a voice plug-ins for applications could be the next step on the road to spread becomes more useful.

Would the developers want to do extra work just for one device? They already did when he moved to the iPhone 4 retina display when the iPhone got a higher resolution.

End of Mac Pro computers

Sales of desktop PCs is not what it used to be. Apple introduced the original design for the (Power Mac G5 then). Although Mac sales grew significantly , notebooks have become a major star since in 2004. exceeded desktop PC sales of the company. That same notebook units are now in danger of extinction due to the iPad I success last year.

Why keep the Mac Pro on the market? It is certainly related to the roots of Apple’s designers and professionals by offering a stable, powerful machine for work. But it is the only product line from Apple simply does not fit. Macs are essentially sealed and must be worn to be repaired by professionals for all that is not a replacement of RAM memory.

This is a standard for manufacturers of PCs, but Apple has made a lucrative job at making things work differently.

A report published in October, Apple Insider, without citing a source, indicated that there was a big drop in sales of the computers at the starting price in the U.S. 2499 dollars prompting executives to consider whether it is still worth investing in a product . This idea is gaining weight if you take into account the fact that the Mac Pro did not get a true overhaul ever since he switched to Intel processors, because it focused more on the Apple Mac Mini promotion, iMac and MacBook computers.

Will Apple to announce his departure to the place or just to replace some other product.

Apple breaks cooperation with Google Maps

Since the first iPhone, Google has been closely associated with Apple’s IOS, but this could change next year if the company starts its own service with maps. Why would Apple do that? Because the tension between Google and Apple have grown in recent years thanks to the rise of Android .
What is more interesting,  Apple announced that collects traffic data “to build the base to offer improved customer service, the iPhone mapping in the next few years.” Rather it sounds just like an extra layer to the existing mapping service, but service itself.

However, Apple bought third  mapping company this year, C3 Technologies , specializing in 3D images. The only thing that somewhat “spoiled” the prediction is that Apple has renewed its contract with Google to use the mapping service earlier this year, although we do not know when it goes up.

A truly new iPhone 5

Since they produced the first iPhone, Apple has annually presented a new version, so this is almost a certainty. So far this cycle involved regular internal fine tuning and a complete overhaul every two years.

iPhone 4 was the last major change in the design of the iPhone, while the 4S for speed.

Before launching 4S was a lot of rumors that Apple is preparing a radical change of design. It did not happen, so now all the stocks in the next year.
An important thing to expect is a larger screen. The traditional 3.5-inch displays are well served by Apple, but other manufacturers have gone to 4 inches, and some even higher.

For a list of expectations iPhone 5 should be and switch to 4G networks, NFC and, of course, the usual fine work on the camera and processor.

iPhone 5 features rumors

iPhone 5 rumored features

Trough entire 2011 there has been  speculations on the characteristics of the iPhone 5.

The source who claimed to have had access to a prototype of the iPhone 5 also gave an insight into the possible features of the handset which include:

· 4-inch screen

· Aluminum backs (like the iPad 2)

· Liquid metal technology to make different colored phones

· Much faster, but lower battery

· 10-megapixel camera

· Thinner and wider

· No physical home button

Other rumored characteristics of the iPhone 5 are the curved Gorilla Glass display, 4G LTE technology, a quad-core CPU, a nano-SIM card and shatterproof OLED diѕрlаy.

In addition, a photo captured by what appears to be the future iPhone model leaked online in September, sparking media frenzy.

4-inch screen iPhone 5 reportedly arriving in the second half of 2012

Tech sites reported in late November that the next-generation iPhone will have a 4-inch LCD touch screen and a 0.5-inch increase on the current iPhone 4S, which confirms rumors that Steve Jobs was working on a “radical redesign” of the iPhone up until shortly before his death in October.

The site also wrote that the two companies began shipping the displays for a “new iOS device” and are rumored  to be working on screens for the iPad 3.

The device is unlikely to be revealed until the second half of 2012 and it is expected be lighter and thinner than previous models.

iPhone 5 and Steve Jobs make Google’s 2011 search list

Google’s annual Zeitgeist list revealed that Apple dominated last year’s fastest-growing search terms with iPhone 5 landing at number 6 and iPad 3 at number 10.

Steve Jobs registered 982% in Google serarches between 2010 and 2011, with the highest point reached during the first week of October when the Apple CEO passed away.

iPhone 5 release date: all rumors of 2012 release

A lot of us were disappointed in October 2011 when Tim Cook brought in the iPhone 4S but not the long-awaited iPhone 5.

Even so, in the next  months websites like this one have rumored numerous stories on why the handset did not come out last year and is bound to arrive in 2012.

Here are some of them:

iPhone 5 release date rumored to be delayed until 2012

After the iPhone 4S was released, analysts speculated that the cause why the world did not see the iPhone 5 in Oct was because Apple’s device depends on the LTE 4G technology.

Will Strauss, chairman of wireless chip market research firm Forward Concepts, said Apple was likely to release the iPhone 5 in spring 2012, when LTE chipsets will be available for thin smartphones.

Furthermore, back in April, CEO Tim Cook said that the “first generation of LTE chipsets force a lot of design compromises.”

When Steve Jobs passed away in October, Rodman & Renshaw analyst Ashok Kumar believed that the next iPhone would represent “the last project that Steve Jobs was intimately involved with from concept to final design.”

“For that reason … this product will establish the high water mark for iPhone volumes,” he wrote.

The analyst added that from the concept to the final design Jobs followed “closely” all the steps, which should make it a “cult classic” at the time of its release which many assume to be 2012

iPhone 5 could arrive in the 1st quarter of 2012

According to Alexis Madrigal, a senior editor at The Atlantic, Apple’s next-generation iPhone may come out in less than 6 months.

The iPhone 5 “is likely going to come out in the 1st quarter of 2012,” Madrigal wrote last week.

The analyst too predicted that the handset will be a trendsetter in the world of tech in 2012.

“I think the release of the iPhone 5 will be the pivot around which the rest of 2012 turns in tech,” he speculated, adding that the smartphone could set “a whole new standard for communications devices.”

In addition, Madrigal wrote that the iPhone 5 “will be a huge deal,” and that everyone will “casually mention it in dinner conversations” and “strangers will talk about it on the bus.”

iPhone 5 could be released on October. 5 2012 to commemorate Steve Jobs’ decease

According to rumors, Apple might be planning to mark the 1st anniversary of Steve Jobs’ death with the release of the much-awaited iPhone 5.

Apple Biter’s Blog at iPhone5Reviewed.com published in December that the late Apple co-founder was closely involved with the iPhone 5 in the last days of his life and followed all the steps of the production.

His engagement in the production should make it “cult classic” at the time of its release, probably in the summer of 2012.

“We find these rumors to be very valid, for the simple fact that Steve Jobs gave utmost importance to the design of Apple products,” the site writes.

Because of this, the blog speculated that the date of the launch for the iPhone 5could be pushed to October in commemoration of Jobs’ death.

11 inchMacBook Air from Apple this year – Maybe

As more budget-conscious ultrabooks get introduced in the market, Apple seems to be pondering over the idea of a lower-priced MacBook Air. Who knows, we could see MacBook Air in the third quarter of this year, if DigiTimes folks are to be believed. Priced at $799, MacBook Air could give the other rival ultrabooks a run for money. Just last year, Intel has developed a $300 fund to help the software and hardware trying to createlightweight laptops, pushing ultrabooks as the latest technology. About $100 million have been invested by the chipmaker already in ultrabook software developers. Although the latest sales numbers from Dell do paint a brighter picture, but these ultrabooks may not take off until the launch of Windows 8, which is much later this year.

Focusing on the11-inch MacBook Air from Apple, 64GB of flash storage comes at $999 and the 128GB version at $1,199. The 13-inch 128GB edition is priced at $1,299, and the 256GB model will cost $1,599. Ming-Chi Kuo, the KGI Securities analyst has even stated recently that a hybrid laptop may also get introduced by Apple in the third quarter. This will have the portability of the MacBook Air and the power of the MacBook. Despite the mounting blitz of rival ultrabooksm it seems MacBook Air will hold its ground and generate huge sales, at least for the time being.

It seems the ultrabook field seems to be teeming with other rivals like Sony, Hewlett-Packard and Acer, trying to imitate Apple’s model and introducing their own lightweight laptops. Soe other major players too have been showing keen interest in this segment of the market which seems ot be very lucrative at the moment. Most ultrabooks cost above $1,000 and they will need to offer stiff competition to match the price of MacBook Air from Apple at$799. Mark Moskowitz, the analyst believes that Ultrabooks are not a threat yet and as highly flexible devices their pricing must fall well below $800 to pose a viable threat to Apple’s MacBook Air.
Depending on the model and configuration, the MacBook Air too isn’t exactly cheap and range anywhere from $999 to $1,599. But it is the advanced features of the device as well as the early launch that will give the MacBook Air a competitive edge over others and continue to attract users. Earlier, it had been assumed that MacBook Air will possibly generate sales of about $3 billion, but now the sales are expected to cross over $7 billion in the coming months, that are around 1.6 million units each quarter. And Apple should be thanking China if the sales do climb to the projected figures. Apple’s growing grip in the Chinese market is expected to boost themomentum of MacBook Air. Apart from china, other regions, expected to boost up the sale of MacBook Airs are U.S, Middle East, Europe and Africa.

What to expect in 11-inch MacBook Air

Weighing only 2.3 pounds, this 11-inch MacBook Air may have a thin profile but is certainly not low thin on features. With intel Core two Duo processor, 5 hours of battery life and Nvidia graphic chip this is certainly very remarkable for a notebook. The weight of this for a notebook is much lighter than any other in the market. Looking and feeling more durable, the 11-inch Air’s aluminum body is very thin and measures from 0.11 to 0.68 inches. Supported by a headphone jack on the left and two USB ports, there is a mini DisplayPort to the right but there is no SD card slot.

Use of -Cell Technology for Touchscreen Display in iPhone 5

If rumors and speculations are to be believed, then it may be true that Apple plans to use new “in-cell” display technology in the next iPhone. And there are big chances that these reports and leaks may be true. ActuallyTaiwan’s Digitimes and Central News Agency are behind these reports of the use of the new “in-cell” display technology by Apple, which is being loped and manufactured by Japanese manufacturers. And the Japanese suppliers who are going to benefit the most from these plans are Sharp, Sony and Toshiba. But are you aware of what is “in-cell” technology and how is it going to affect the next iPhone? Well, read on if you are not.

Currently, what we see is the on-cell technology being used in the iPhone models. Before going into in-cell technology, let us take a look at the on-cell technology. The on cell display works a bit like a sandwich. You have the back light at the very bottom, layered by the LCD section directly above it , which supports the green, red and blue colored pixels of the display. Then you have the glass layer on the top,  and a capacitive touch layer on it and which is then topped off by Gorilla Glass. The core layer of glass divides the liquid crystal portion of the display from the touch portion. So, you can think of a trifle when thinking about the on cell technology.

The in-cell technology will make the next iPhones thinner than the current models. This is because the touch sensors that were earlier placed on top of the color filters now will be placed inside them. According to Digitimes, it is due to the improvements made in the the in-cell panels yield rates so as to make it feasible for Apple to employ in-cell technology for the upcoming iPhone. Both Toshiba and Sharp are raising the production of in-cell panels.

It seems the next generation iPhone from Apple is all set to rim down a bit. Instead of using a display made of a number of different layers, the in-cell touch display technology will help cut down on the thickness and size of the device. What you get in your hand is a thinner and lighter unit. As the next iPhone is expected carry a larger 4- to 4.3-inch display, Apple would have to find some new ways to keep the weight of the phone in check. Using in-cell technology is going to help the phone in keeping its weight down.

The in-cell display tech gets rid of the middle layer of glass, thus uniting the LCD and touch sections into a single layer. One way to achieve this is by using the same electrodes handling the signals for both the pixels of the LCD and the touch control. The in-cell technology currently is not being installed in any cell phones. Therefore it should not bee confused with the “Super” technologies from Samsung that may sound similar. The Super LCD and Super MOLED screens make use of on-cell technology rather than in-cell. The in-cell touch technology is still in a nascent stage and we many see many progressive developments in this technology.

Whether Apple would go for the in-cell technology in the next IPhone, well, that is a big question. Looking at the reports and the sources of these news, chances are that we will see the new technology getting used in the next iPhones. DisplaySearch’s Paul Semenza is sure that the next iPhone display will apply in-cell touch. Well, till the next iPhone actually debuts, all we can do is live among those speculations.

Get ready for the iPhone 5 headset and new development in iTunes

The music lovers are going to enjoy their music all the more as Apple is making new plans to make certain enhancements with iTunes, a 7-inch iPad/iPod touch hybrid, an upgraded iPod touch, and an innovative headset. The new headset should work smooth with iPhone 5 and iPod music playback with Bluetooth. The wireless headset with integrated media player is bound to be an important piece for any user of iPhone. Integrating microphone, Bluetooth headset and MP3 player, one can load the music on the headset with USB. This means you can listen to your favorite music even when you are not carrying iPod touch or iPhone or don’t even have them.

Apple already has patents for these headsets which turn the music off once you take them off your head, as reported by Wired. With  advanced noise cancellation, one can see the reflection of the Bluetooth headset design that was offered by Apple in 2007. With around 316 million iOS devices being used all over with world, needless to point out, there is a huge market for the Apple headset. If the headset were integrated with an iPhone, the capacity of these headsets can cue up tracks with the help of Siri voice controls. There is a small display for start, stop and record along with the capacity to listen to your voice messages. Now you need not carry your iOS device with you to listen to the music. Now all those wanting an iPod or iPhone can go ahead and choose the Apple headset.

Ever since its innovative incarnation as the audio-focused Soundjam, iTunes has seen lots of evolution. Apple had got the software from Casady and Greene and then morphed it into iTunes. These days iTunes comes with a combination of acquisition tools and media and device management. Apple seems set to focus on performance in the software, so as to make the software run more smoothly. iTunes 11 will, upport iOS 6 with its iPhone 5 support, iCloud, Siri, Apple Maps and other interesting improvements. The company purchased Chomp and will organize the discovery technologies. The e iTunes Store is all set for redesign, while stressing on user-friendliness. There are also plans to introduce LTE support, thus enabling users to stream huge volumes of music while on the move.

Attempts are being made by Apple to make iTunes more interactive, and are likely to include Facebook support. There are also speculations that iTunes may add on new options for micro-payment, thus helping users to getsmall amounts of cash thus using an iPhone 5 as an iWallet too. Thus NFC transactions could be tested globally and will test if small payments are supported like coffee at Starbucks or public transit fees. If Apple go ahead to the concept of  Iwallet, these new features will be available in USfirst.

iPod touch will get a new processor,  and some form of limited support for Siri. There have been many clams by Apple to introduce a 7-inch iPad that could also be promoted as a dedicated iBook reader.

All this could lead to amore complex design with the headphones and microphone constituting the audio portion of a mobile device, that supports the hands-free concept. So this is the latest for all those gearing up for some great summer music with Apple. Everybody knows that Apple has been working on video goggle solutions for many years now. One just needs to stretch their imagination and imagine a pair of well-matched video glasses being bought at some future point.  Till then, let the speculations play.
